Kid’s Dental Checkups & Cleanings

Our dentists follow the recommendations set by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry that children should receive bi-annual dental checkups and teeth cleanings starting on their first birthday or as soon as they receive their first tooth. During these visits, we will get to know your child so that they feel more comfortable in the dentist’s chair as well as explain what will occur during their appointment. Using a gentle touch, we’ll carefully examine their teeth, gums, and bite as well as clear away any plaque and tartar before discussing fun and helpful ways to refine their brushing and flossing techniques at home.
Dental Sealants

As children grow older, they begin to improve their brushing and flossing habits, allowing them to take better care of their smile. Until then, however, dental sealants can help protect their molars and premolars from cavities and dental decay. A liquid coating is placed over the biting surfaces of these teeth, preventing food debris and plaque from penetrating the pits and grooves. We’ll check their placement at each visit, ensuring their smile remains better protected for up to 10 years.
Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

Sports enthusiasts and avid athletes need proper mouth protection before taking to the court, field, or track, so to ensure greater peace of mind for you and your child, we can provide custom-made athletic mouthguards/sportsguards. Built from durable materials and crafted to fit their mouth comfortably, the appliance will not only allow them to breathe easily but also protect their teeth, gums, jawbone, and other areas from sustaining a serious dental injury.
Pulp Treatment

If your child complains of a toothache that will not go away, it may be the result of a broken or decayed tooth that has become infected. To prevent it from spreading and causing harm to nearby healthy teeth, they may require pulp treatment. Once our dentists confirm this approach is necessary, we will take precautions to ensure your child’s comfort and safety before removing the infected portion of the pulp and restoring the tooth with a dental crown. This allows your child to keep their natural tooth instead of enduring extraction.
